I. In accordance with Article 154, Paragraph 1 of the Administrative Procedure Act and Article 19, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 4 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention and Control Act.

II. To protect the public's right to health free from secondhand smoke and to establish outdoor smoke-free environments, the Bureau, in accordance with Article 19, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 4 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention and Control Act, plans to announce that the sidewalks surrounding Soochow University's Ximending and Waishuangxi campuses (Ximending Campus address: No. 56, Section 1, Guiyang Street, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City; Waishuangxi Campus address: No. 70, Linxi Road, Shilin District, Taipei City) will be designated as completely smoke-free areas starting from September 1, 2023.

III. Anyone caught smoking in the aforementioned smoke-free areas in violation of the regulations will be fined NT$2,000 to NT$10,000 in accordance with Article 40, Paragraph 2 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention and Control Act. This matter is also posted on the Bureau's website (URL: http://health.gov.taipei) on the announcement page.
