I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter No. 1130003715 dated January 10, 113.
II. With the recent return of cross-border travel and the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, it is anticipated that cases of travelers violating import regulations will increase. According to statistics from the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine, Ministry of Agriculture, the majority of cases of citizens violating animal quarantine regulations this year involve individuals returning from mainland China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Macau. Commonly prohibited animal products include ham sausages, sausages, pork floss egg rolls, chicken feet, beef jerky, semi-cooked eggs, chicken, duck, and goose products, and in-flight meals containing meat.
III. Schools are requested to strengthen publicity among faculty, staff, and students, urging them not to carry animal and plant quarantine items when entering the country. Please also inform relatives and friends abroad not to mail pork products or other animal quarantine items to Taiwan to avoid penalties. If pork products are illegally brought into the country from countries (regions) that have experienced African Swine Fever in the past three years, a fine of NT$200,000 will be imposed for the first offense, and a fine of NT$1,000,000 for the second offense.
