Ministry of Education 113 Carbon Sink Capacity Building Online Workshop

I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai Jiao Zi (6) Zi No. 1132701336 dated March 28, 113.

II. In response to climate change and to align with the global net-zero emission goals, the Ministry of Education is promoting the "Campus Tree Information Platform" with its carbon sequestration calculation function. This initiative aims to assess the carbon sequestration capacity of trees on campus, enhance teachers' and students' understanding of the role of green plants in energy saving and carbon reduction, and promote the concept of loving trees. Therefore, the aforementioned activity is being organized.

III. Our bureau has planned to promote the Campus Tree Carbon Sequestration Action Plan starting from the year 113. In the year 113, all schools in the city are required to designate personnel to serve as seed teachers. We kindly request your school to actively register for this activity. Relevant information is as follows:

(I) Participants: Personnel from county and city education bureaus, environmental education counseling groups, school environmental education teachers, school tree maintenance technicians, planting personnel, or interested school staff.

(II) Time: April 17, 113 (Wednesday), from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

(III) Content and Lecturers:

1. 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM - How Much Do We Know About Forest Carbon Sequestration: Associate Professor Lin Zheng-dao

2. 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM - Simulated Practical Operation - Tree Biomass Survey and Carbon Sequestration Estimation (Campus Tree Information Platform Function Tutorial): Associate Professor Lin Zheng-dao and Project Manager Xu Hao

(IV) Online Meeting Link: https://meet.google.com/tfw-nzksfsv. The online session has a limit of 100 participants. Registration will close once the limit is reached, so please log in as early as possible.

(V) Civil servants, teachers, and environmental education personnel who complete the entire training session can obtain 2 hours of environmental education hours (including extended hours), teacher training hours, or lifelong learning hours for civil servants. If you require relevant hours, please sign in and out during the online meeting.

V. The carbon sequestration enhancement training activities for the aforementioned plan are scheduled to be held 6 times this year. This session is the 3rd session. Information and times for subsequent activities will be announced separately.
