2024 Ministry of Education Climate Change Education Lesson Plan Design Competition

I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Secondary and Preschool Education, letter No. 1130079717 dated July 5, 113.

II. The aforementioned competition is organized by the Ministry of Education, entrusting National Taiwan Normal University and National Taiwan University to design lesson plans that align with Taiwan's 2050 Net-Zero Emissions Pathway, free from traditional frameworks and issues.

III. The competition theme is "Net-Zero Carbon Path, Campus Carbon Navigators." Please design a single lesson plan with this as the core concept, integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), considering economic, social, and environmental aspects, and adhering to the principle of sustainable development.

IV. Information regarding the competition schedule, participants, and submission methods is as follows:

(I) Registration Method: All registrations for this competition must be done online at https://reurl.cc/aqRAjG. Upon successful registration, you will receive an email notification. Please refer to the guidelines for detailed instructions.

(II) Registration Deadline: From now until July 31, 113 (Wednesday), 11:59 PM.

(III) Submission Format: There is no limit to the number of submissions per school. Submissions can be completed individually or collaboratively. Each participating team shall submit one teaching lesson plan with "Climate Change" as the core theme. Please refer to the guidelines for detailed format and submission methods.

(IV) Participant Limit per Submission: Each teacher may participate in the creation of a maximum of one submission. Each submission is limited to a maximum of 3 participants (participants cannot be changed after confirmation).

(V) Submission Deadline: From now until September 30, 113 (Monday), 11:59 PM.

(VI) Participants: Teachers currently teaching in public senior high schools, junior high schools, elementary schools, or registered private middle and elementary schools nationwide.

V. Judging Criteria and Awards:

(I) Relevance to "Responding to Climate Change" and "2050 Net-Zero Emissions Strategy" (40%), accuracy of knowledge content (scientific knowledge, contextual knowledge, issue knowledge, etc.) (15%), cross-disciplinary integration and feasibility of teaching execution of the lesson plan (20%), measurability of teaching outcomes (20%), and other creativity (5%), totaling 100%.

(II) Awards: Awards will be given to the top three teams, with prizes of NT$30,000, NT$15,000, and NT$10,000 respectively. One outstanding team will also receive a prize of NT$5,000. The final award list will be decided by the review committee, and awards may be withheld.

(III) Announcement Platform and Date for Award Results: The competition results will be announced on October 8, 113 (Tuesday) on the Ministry of Education Climate Change Education Information Platform (https://climatechange.tw/).

(IV) Award Ceremony Date and Location: The award ceremony will be held on October 20, 113 (Sunday) at the "2024 Taiwan Climate Action Expo" venue.
