I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter No. 1135500497 dated March 14, 113.
II. To help all elementary and junior high school students develop good reading habits and improve their English reading ability, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's English Online Learning Platform (Cool English) has created the "Fantasy Reading Kingdom" and "Magical Reading Journey" sections. These sections select English e-books with diverse themes and moderate difficulty, adding Chinese translations and full-text readings. They also include questions based on the article content to help students assess their comprehension after reading through reading tests. To encourage all elementary and junior high school students to continuously use the reading sections of the platform to strengthen their English reading skills, the "Cool English Reading King" competition is being held.
III. Brief description of the event:
(I) Participants: All public and private elementary school students in grades 3-6 (elementary group) and junior high school students in grades 7-9 (junior high group). Registration is entirely online, and participation is on an individual basis.
(II) Event period: From March 1, 113 (Monday) 00:00 to May 3, 113 (Friday) 23:59.
(III) Announcement of top scores: To be announced on the Facebook fan page and platform's latest news at 18:00 on May 9, 113 (Thursday).
